USA HOCKEY REGISTRATION
Please ensure you register for the 2026-2027 season with USA Hockey prior to tryouts. You will need your USA Hockey number when registering for tryouts. The 2026-2027 USA Hockey registration can be found at the following site: USA Hockey Registration
SCAHA REGISTRATION
Every Player is also required to register with the Southern California Amateur Hockey Association (SCAHA) for the 2026-2027 season. You will need your USA Hockey number when registering with SCAHA. Once registered, print out your certificate and bring it with you to tryouts. Returning families will need to log into their SCAHA account and complete registration for the new season. New families will need to create a new SCAHA account. You can complete the SCAHA registration here: SCAHA
GENERAL TRYOUT INFORMATION
TRYOUT REGISTRATION & FEES
- Online pre-registration and payment are required prior to arriving at the rink.
- Walk-up registrations will need to complete registration online at the rink.
- Tryout fees are non-refundable.
- The tryout fee is $100 per tryout weekend.
- Players must register separately for each tryout weekend attended.
THE TRYOUT PROCESS
- Check in at the registration table and present all required documentation.
- Players will receive a tryout pennie that must be returned at the end of each session.
- Please arrive dressed and ready to take the ice at your scheduled time.
- Families are encouraged to remain at the rink until results are posted.
TRYOUT RESULTS
Results will be posted in the viewing area following each session.
Players may receive one of the following designations:
Selected for the Team
- Meet with a club representative regarding next steps and registration.
- Some players selected on the first day may be asked to return for a second skate.
Called Back
- Players will return the following day for an additional evaluation skate.
Released from Tryouts
- Players may continue attending tryouts with other organizations.
IF YOUR PLAYER IS SELECTED
Immediately following tryouts, players and parents/guardians will meet with a club representative in the designated area.
A Letter of Intent (LOI) will be completed at that time. Once signed, players may not participate in tryouts for another organization.
Financial arrangements and registration must be completed online within 24 hours of team selection. Failure to complete registration prior to the team’s next tryout session may result in the player’s roster spot being released.
REQUIRED DOCUMENTATION
Players new to SCAHA/CAHA may be required to provide:
- Government-issued birth certificate or passport
- Release from previous organization (if transferring from another state)
- USA Hockey transfer paperwork for foreign-born players
If your player is selected for a team, our Registrar will contact you regarding any additional required documentation.
